The Wood Enterprise Institute (WEI) is a student-run entrepreneurial venture managed by students with the support of the Department of Wood Science and Forest Products and the College of Natural Resources and Environment at Virginia Tech. The goal of the WEI is to successfully introduce a wood product from concept to market, through new product development, product marketing, product manufacturing, and sales. The WEI is currently in its fourth iteration, for the 2010 – 2011 year.
